About the Society

The Korean Society for the History of Medicine, founded in 1947, is an academic society dedicated to research, education, and scholarly exchange in the history of medicine. Its members include historians, physicians, and scholars from related fields who share an interest in how medicine has developed and shaped society.

The Society holds regular academic meetings, recognizes outstanding scholarship through its awards, and supports research and publication in the field. Most activities are conducted in Korean; this page offers a short overview in English for international colleagues.
